Forgive Me Father

If I was to make a list
of all the bad things I did
Would God forgive me
because of the way I lived

Dear Merciful God forgive
me for I have sinned;
If I knew what I know now
I would not have done what I did back then.

One thousand Hail Mary's
Would not have saved my soul;
As long as I embraced the things
that I should let go.

Like God's love rein on me,
There has to be a better way;
Now that I'm older now I feel
relieved when I pray.

In the name of Jesus, son of our merciful God
forgive me for I have sinned;
And if I can repent I will never take that path again.
